We believe that the JD/MBA program is one of the best investments that you will ever make.  Countless attorneys have mentioned how they wish that they had considered pursuing a JD/MBA while in school.  In short, you are in the right place!

To apply to be a JD/MBA student, you must already be admitted to the Washington College of Law at American University.  The admissions process is facilitated by the Kogod School of Business in conjunction with the Washington College of Law Registrar.

You are able to use your LSAT score instead of a GMAT score when applying to the JD/MBA program.  The MBA portion of the JD/MBA program is a one year full-time business school experience.  You must be available to go to the Kogod School of Business full-time for one year of business school.  This year may occur after your 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of law school.

The MBA portion of the JD/MBA is comprised of 33 MBA credits.  Out of these 33 credits, 15 are taken in the fall and 15 are taken in the spring.  The last 3 credit course (KSB 613 Strategic Decisionmaking) is to be taken in the Spring of your 3rd or 4th year of the 4-year JD/MBA program.
